Transfer Checklist

Planning to transfer takes more than just choosing a university - it means making sure you meet the right requirements, connect with the right people, and stay on track with your goals. Use this checklist as your step-by-step guide to take action now and set yourself up for a smooth transfer from Pierce College to your next school.

1. Search the college/university website

Use the search bar, site map, or A–Z index to find what you need.

2. Find admissions requirements for transfer students

  • Check how many credits are required to be considered a transfer student.
  • Confirm the minimum GPA for admission.
  • Look for foreign language requirements (for admission, graduation, or your major).
  • Review policies on transferring credits from other colleges.

Tip: Complete foreign language requirements at Pierce College when possible.

3. Review transfer equivalency tools

Look for equivalency tables or guides for Pierce College courses.

4. Connect with admissions advisors

Find admissions advisor contact information under the Admissions section of your desired college or university. Reach out early to confirm requirements and timelines for transfer.

5. Explore programs and majors

Look under Academics for lists of majors and programs. Contact a program/department advisor in your intended major to confirm admission and program-specific requirements.
