Associate Degrees and University Transfer
University Transfer Degrees
A university transfer degree at Pierce College helps you complete your first two years of college and move confidently to a four-year university at a lower cost.
Transfer Degrees
Pierce College offers Direct Transfer Agreement (DTA) degrees across a range of fields. These degrees are designed to:
- Fulfill lower-division general education requirements
- Cover major prerequisites for many bachelor’s programs
Because requirements vary by major and university, it’s important to explore your academic goals early and work with an advisor to stay on track.
Planning for Transfer
A successful transfer starts with a clear plan. Pierce College partners with many universities to support a smooth transition, but requirements can differ by school and program.
As you plan, be sure to:
- Review transfer requirements for your intended university
- Check how your courses apply to your major
- Use transfer tools and resources to guide your choices
- Connect with your advisor for questions, guidance and resources

Important Considerations
- While you may earn more than 90 credits at Pierce College, some universities accept a maximum of 90 transfer credits toward a bachelor’s degree
- Courses below the 100 level (college preparatory) do not transfer
- The receiving institution makes final decisions about transfer credit
